it could be a couple of different people. depending on the situation. it could also be your nephew for instance.
They have many things in common. I'll just shoot for the obvious answer. Neither one was raised by wolves. Is that the one you were looking for?
Oh yea, Rajagra is correct. Brothers and sisters I have none. This man's father being my father's son means that this man's father must be me. Therefore, this man is my son.
they are both squares.
Brothers and sisters I have none but this man's father is my father's son.
what was the correct answer to this one?
It's my son. ...
Brothers and sisters I have none
this could mean he has none living.but that he may have had some at one time. in which case it could be his nephew. Believe me this kind of question wins me a lot of bar bets.
I believe all information required should be provided in the riddle itself. Of course there are often infinite possibilities such as the horse untying the rope or the boat being a submarine or neither square having been raised by wolves but there is only one plausible liklihood. In the case of the subject riddle, "Brothers and sisters I have none." this means I have no siblings alive dead or long lost because they were sold to gypsies during that downturn in Dad's gambling career. That being so,"This man's father is my father's son." As my father had only one son and it happens to be me, "this man" must be my son, before the little wierdo got his sex change.<!-- / message --><!-- edit note -->

Heres an old one that I still get some people on.......
What can go up a chimney, down but can't come down a chimney, up?
Smoke? ....
I'm going to guess an umbrella. (For the chimney question)
Santa with an erection.
James.
They're actually the same shade?
Edit: Man, I am soooooo behind.
I should learn to read.
Sorry, I never read the initial post, so I wasn't aware that answering a riddle correctly meant you had to post the next one. xman had to PM me with the news. :)
We are very little creatures; all of us have different features. One of us in glass is set; one of us you'll find in jet. Another you may see in tin, and a fourth is boxed within. If the fifth you should pursue, it can never fly from you.
What are we?
You got it.
That was a fun one.
Here' one that I like to ask the kids:
What's the difference between a clam shucker with epilepsy and a prostitute with diarrhea? Oh, sorry that's the wrong one. (Hey I'm joking already) Here's my riddle:
What is it that you throw away the outside, cook the inside, eat the outside and throw away the inside?
Brad
An ear of corn?
How many letters are in the answer to this riddle(there's a few acceptable answers to this).
You got it.
I would have also accepted '0' or 'seven plus seven'
...or 'Two Cubed'
Riddle me this, SRP.
I am a thousand times three:
You may find a clue
To the left of you;
I'll even add one for thee!
Is it the number of posts you've made up till now?
Alright. Buckle up.
You are in a room with three light switches. One of the light switches operates a light bulb in an adjacent room. The other two do nothing. Using only the switches and ONE trip into the adjacent room to check the light bulb, how do you determine with certainty which switch operates the light?
X
hit switch 1 for several minutes, then turn it off and hit switch 2. Now enter the room.
If the light is on, it's switch 2.
If not, feel the bulb.
If the bulb is warm (from having been heated up by several minutes of use) then it's switch 1.
If neither is true, it's switch 3.
That's right Jason. You're up.
Not true Gugi! X said you are only allowed to make one trip to the other room using only the light switches. So, punch a hole in the wall, grab the light switches, rip them out through the plaster as you move to the other room, and see which one is connected to the socket.
I base my answer on observations I made on the last electrician we hired to fix a faulty socket.
James.
sweet, your turn jimbo :)
nooo ...
"Using only the light switches and one trip into the adjacent room" means no fists, no wires, no wedging the door open with your shoes, no calling out to a friend, etc. regardless of the kind of electricians you like to hire, James.
And everybody knows how a light switch looks when it is in the off position, Gooj. Jason is up.
