    Question Riddle Me This, SRP

    Guys and gals,

I propose a riddle thread in the same general vein as the ever-popular movie thread. Be the first to answer correctly the riddle above you and then post a riddle of your own. A riddle need not necessarily fit any strict or formal definition of riddle so long as the poster bears in mind that overly complicated puzzles will not be interesting. If nobody has correctly solved the riddle to the riddle writer's satisfaction within two days of its posting, anyone is free to start a new riddle. If you start a new riddle this way, be sure to clearly mark such action with a clever transition such as "Now the real game begins!"

This experiment relies on the honor system: copying and pasting the riddle into a search engine is highly discouraged - use your own noggin!

    Let the games begin!

    "Completely round is fairly rare.
Bright and shiny when I'm there.
When I'm not, they call me new.
But I'm old. Older than you."

Four men were in a boat on the lake. The boat turns over, and all four men sink to the bottom of the lake, yet not a single man got wet! Why?

    Because...it's a U-Boat?

Because all 4 of them got wet; not just a single one?

I think Doc was right on this one. The lack of question mark reveals his confidence too!

I agree that Doc's answer is the most likely. But BW's and mine are equally possible explanations. Just because it is splitting hairs doesn't mean it's not a valid solution to word games
If anything, splitting hairs should be the prefered solution in this place

The answer from the riddle site is that they are married, so they did get wet, but no single man got wet, only married men got wet

The lack of question mark could also be interpreted as his use of a search engine for the answer. Not that I would interpret it that way, just saying how it might read to suspicious people

    Doc, you're up
