yes. I already know SS is gonna be dead by the time I retire. I'm not expecting to get a dime back out of it. So I'd rather stop paying in now. I have a whole host of retirement accounts, I'm not counting on other people's tax money to bail me out when I'm old. I would seriously walk away from SS right now if they'd let me.

Sorry Jim, Obama like most other democrats are in the pockets of the ultra rich just like the repugnicans, different bobblehead same suit of clothes. You are missing the same point Mark is, there is no difference between the parties or the philosophies, all money and all power goes to the top, everyone else be damned.

I have known many politicians in my life, and they run the gamut like everyone else -- saints, sinners, knaves, and kings. To say that all politicians are dishonest is about as untrue as to say that they're all saints. The biggest problem with them is that they tend toward an unhealthy self-absorption. But election day can cure that.

I think anyone who says that there's no difference between parties has missed the lesson of the past few years.

Political action is the only way we avoid anarchy. Our job is to make it work. As I see it, the biggest problem right now is politicians who try to keep us at each other's throats. We should find again the mutual respect on which we built this nation.

I know that sometimes, it seems like we take two steps forward (if we're lucky) and one step back, but that's how it goes. But we need to go forward together. That's why I get into these discussions, and why I have trouble showing patience to people who are committed to division.

Your half right we voted out a president who exagerated the power of his office in untold ways and thereby endangered this republic.

Then we voted in one who is a charismatic idiot who thinks the previous administration was to conservative with its domestic policies.

I assure you, Obama is nobody's idiot. Nor did he claim that Bush's domestic policy was "too conservative." In many ways, I find Obama far more conservative than the Neo-Cons.

Like many people -- it seems a majority -- I really hate this Recovery Act. But like most, I believe it's necessary. If you disagree, try to convince a majority. It's a simple as that. No need for drama.

70% of Americans do dislike the "recovery act" Or as I like to call it the Communist takeover of America. That hasn't stoped our pork hungry congress from voting for it and it won't stop our future fuhrer from signing it into law.

He is for abortion on demand, gun control, gay marriage, and socialized health care, he doesn't actually have to say that the previous administration was too conservative in so many words now does he?

I don't know why anyone who has even read part of this act and has a lick of sense would think this act is in any way "necessary" even the congressional budget office thinks that it will make things worse.

As for your rant over the social issues mentioned in your post: elections have consequences. This past election was a referendum over these exact issues, among others. In case you missed it: your side lost. Perhaps your bitterness over this defeat explains your resort to invoking Nazi terminology in referring to the president of the United States. Perhaps you also missed the larger point of the '09 election--to wit, that most of this country's populace is no longer interested in engaging in the type of slash-and-burn, partisan rhetoric typified by your post . You are obviously not an Obama supporter, but to equate him with Hitler just because of your disagreement over his financial plan is just plain disgusting.

When his policies stop reminding me of those the Natzies used to rise to power in the thirties I will stop reminding everyone of the consequences of following them with my "rhetoric". Or would equating him with Mao be more accurate.

Those who stand up for individual freedom and personal responsibility have only lost if the give in and stop voicing their disapproval of a government that with each passing day stops being the peoples servant and works its way to being the peoples nanny and controller. We can only lose our freedom if we give it up, it can never be forcibly taken from us.

I feel that many of his stated positions and idea would be unconstitutional. If they are given a pass by the supreme court through some gross negligence on their part this country will be at the point where there is only one recourse if we are to continue to be the free country we have always been.
