Although I'm not old enough to remember the original series I have watched the re-runs and they are by far the best series!
The new movie also looks awesome! Bring it on!

The guy that plays the young Scotty, Simon Pegg, comes from Brockworth, Gloucester, a couple of miles from me. A quality comic actor!
One day they might actually cast a Jock as Scotty!

I can't wait for it. At first I wasn't so jazzed, but then they started releasing previews and now I'm pumped! I used to watch the original series with my grandpa (re-runs at 10pm of course), and I watched a few of the later series. I'm a fan of most of the movies, but more the earlier ones.
This one looks awesome though. If done right, I think it'll be a great addition to the series.
Im an original fan and as QO said if they do this right it will be awesome, if they screwup itll be on DVD before you know it.

Okay, I've just got to say, Wow! This is a bold new imagining and it leaves me wanting more. Star Trek has extracted itself from the nerddom which grew around it. It can be whatever it wants to be.

It was amazing. I drove down to ATL to see it on Imax.. They didn't screw anything up.. Except for mabye it wasn't long enough.
