    Default I'm in trouble, methinks...

Many thanks to ChrisL and Hoglahoo for making this useless thread possible.

I came downstairs to see my daughter picking some books out and saying "DA" (hey she's 14 months old tomorrow) which means "Father, dearest father, would you take me upon your knee and read to me, please?"

Then I saw what she was picking.......

At least it is not Atlas Shrug or The Prince by Machiavelli.

She won't be able to reach Atlas Shrugged for another two shelves yet.
Don't own a copy of The Prince.

You could always re-arrange the bookshelf. "You can get paranoid about your government when you're tall enough!"

I doubt it...but I I have not had enough coffee yet to generate a witty, well thought out reply, so I'm going to pretend I didn't see it until later.

no I'm totally serious. I like Ayn Rand; if I had kids that were old enough, I'd read her to them.

    This made me laugh.

I liked Anthem and The Fountainhead, the second one in particular. But I'm sorry, I have to say, Atlas Shrugged was just completely silly.

"Mr. Galt, lead us. Lead us! PLEASEEEEEE!"
"No. Not until you allow monopolies, abolish welfare, and privatize the fire department."
"Oh no! we're going to threaten you with a gun now!"
"Do your worst. I'm happy to die in the name of Capitalism!"

And that speech he gave. What was it, 200 pages? I remember flipping through the book going "damn, when's this thing going to end?"
