Why beveling the edges of your hone is a good thing
So Saturday I was honing my Global kitchen knife and now I have less of one finger and three stitches on the other.
I am still looking for the piece that I sliced off. It was gory and bloody. I'll post pics of the stitches tomorrow.
I was on the final stroke when the edge of the blade caught on the edge of the hone throwing my right hand forward and my middle and ring finger into the path of a fast moving knife. The knife won and SWMBO has forbid me from honing alone.
Forget the TPT I have the FTT (Finger tip test) and yes it is sharp. The doctor that closed me up even said so.
