Just because the interpretation of the god is different doesn't mean it isn't the same god. Catholics and Baptists disagree on many points as well, but it's still the same myth at the core.

Both Catholic and Baptists Believe in the Triune God (Father Son and Holy Spirit) The religion they practice and the way they conduct the governing of the Church are complete opposites (so are other Christian dominations). The Son they both (all) call LORD (Jesus) said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (NIV)
If the Bible is the inspired word of God then there is only one path not many . If the bible is not true then how could any other religious document in or out of the Christian Religion be trusted. To the best of my knowledge nothing in the Bible has ever been proven false (this does include a young Earth and the 6 days of creation). If it were not for Christians widows in the hindu religion would still be burned on their husbands funeral fire. Hospitals would not have been started, Joseph Lister would not have invented anesthetics. The mayflower compact (the Pilgrims) would not have happened and the subsequent documents (Articles of Confederation, Constitution of the US, ect.)would have never been.
If you are not a believer so be it. If you believe in a "higher" power then you're an agnostic, no God atheist. If agnostic I Pray you are a searcher who will truly look for the truth instead of one who anchors himself on unsubstantiated arguments. Belief begins with the heart and is strengthened in the Mind (Faith in something or nothing) and the only person who can change your belief is you.

My point was simply that the JCIG (Judeo-Christian-Islamic-God) are not separate gods. That dude in the videos equivocates. He tells you the differences mean that it is a different god, but it is merely a different interpretation with different practices.

Of course the young earth certainly has been proven false repeatedly by many branches of science and all, yes indeed, all of the supernatural claims remain completely and totally unsubstantiated. James Randi has $1,000,000 for anyone who has evidence to the contrary.

This is exactly why it is a bad idea to debate religion, IMO.

XMan is absolutely right in his assertion that God and Allah are the same "character", but they are seen differently by their followers. There is no reason to even debate that issue; it's not debatable when observed objectively.

However, I am a young earth creationist that chooses to believe the Bible. To the point about creationism being "disproven":

Assuming that there is a God (which I think there is) that created Earth (which I think he did), wouldn't it be possible to imagine that through whatever awesome force it took to create this massive universe the created may have had such forces applied that render it unable to be aged according to our current methodologies? We are asked to believe that carbon has a half-life of 5,700 years, but we have human remains purported to be over 3 million years old. Hebrews 11:3 tells us "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." If the things which are seen were not made of things which appear, it seems to me to be impossible to prove or disprove anything. That's why it is faith.

The point is this. Until common ground is reached, there is no foundation on which to build. There is no beginning point from which to have a constructive discussion, and we resort to calling each other "dumb" or "stupid". There are a lot of really REALLY smart people on all sides of this issue, and there are really DUMB people on both sides (even the atheist and agnostic side ;))

Exactly. Faith demands that it not be questioned. Pondered in its meaning yes, but doubted of its veracity, never. Science demands the exact opposite, that it be tested to its very limits so that falsehoods and errors may be rooted out and discarded. With these two opposing methodologies spiritualism and rationalism will never see eye to eye because they look, as each intends, in opposite directions.

Here is another group of people who belive in go and they think the earth is even older than modern science is willing to admit, on one side you have creationits saying young earth, in the middle is modern sceince saying old things but young society, and then you have these pleople saying society on earth has been around long before the ages of things like dinosaurs etc.. very intersting perspective in this video.
