    Default R.I.P. Edward Kennedy

Love him or hate him. Think him a visionary or a socialist. Classify him as a patriot or a traitor, a hero or scoundrel, Edward Kennedy served his country for nearly his entire life according to the ideals he believed made this country the greatest in the world. He did so while reaching across party lines, working with conservatives and moderates, and realizing that compromise when you are in the minority AND majority is sometimes the way governance has to work.

    R.I.P.

its amazing how a person can be the biggest horses arse when they are alive, but the minute they die they become a saint. The man stood for everything that I revile, and the only way he was going to leave power was by dying. There was never going to be a retirement for him. now that his senate seat is vacant maybe we can get somone who did not get away with murder. i will remain silent on this from now on.

I think that's for the best. You are not be the only one to think him a horses ass. You may, want to consider whether it is the gentlemanly think to do to keep it to yourself when those who do not consider him a horses ass (and some who do!) are paying respects.

I never said the man is a saint, and very few politicians are.

I'll never pretend to agree with any of his positions, but I wrote him a letter after he got sick letting him know that I, a conservative, greatly appreciate his passionate pursuit of his ideals. May we all live a little more like this man, and see what we could all get done...

I agree. While I don't wish death on most, even someone I disliked as much as Ted Kennedy, I'm glad his seat is vacant. It's about time some of the musty air in the Senate is moved out. Rest in peace...hopefully the voters won't.

I agree, R.I.P. Now it is time for the living to move on.
