Default Attn pipe smokers; William Ashton "Bill" Taylor R.I.P.

I just received a couple of emails saying that the great pipe maker Bill Taylor passed away as the result of injuries received from an accident. He apprenticed with Dunhill and worked his way up to being in charge of their quality control dept in his 25 years with that company.

In 1983 he started his own company Ashton Pipes and was IMO one of the most innovative makers of traditional smoking pipes that there ever was. So R.I.P. Bill Taylor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Man, that's horrible! I have heard nothing but incredible things about his pipes, and they were on my short list of which pipe to buy next.

Shoot... there is a real shortage of real artisan pipe makers today... a real shame to lose one.
