    Take a look at say, the guy on the skateboard:

    Look at how hard he tosses the ball--not very, and it sails half court? And if he did heave it that hard, there is always an equal and opposite reacition, right? so why no wobble to the skateboard?

    Same with the guy throwing the ball over the barn.

    And the guy with his back to the net, from halfcourt....nice easy toss and it goes flying fhalf a basketball court?



    I'm not buying it.

    I wish I had the video from this but here it goes anyway:

    Freshman year of college (I'm a junior now) some guys in my dorm decided to play with the basketball hoop next to our dorm.

    What ensued was a friend of mine making 3 shots in a row from a 3rd story window halfway down the building, about 75 feet from the hoop before factoring in the vertical distance. It was pretty spectacular.

    My brother used to be able to reliably net the ball from nearly the other side of the court, standing with his back to the hoop.
    It was just a matter of always standing in the same spot and then practising until you got the right movement down.
