Well I knew that sharing my opinion was going to cause this kind of response and I'm definitely not here to debate nor give offense. You make several errors of logic here in your statements, and taking texts out of context is not valid or useful in serious discussion.Quote:

I don't give a hoot if not one person who might commit a similar crime is deterred. I don't know what it is like in prison but I know that people get used to their environment. Lifers become institutionalized and make the best of their bad situation.
He would breath the air, see and feel the sun and the changing of the seasons. It isn't the same as being free but it beats the void. Right about now he knows that he has about an hour and a half to experience life and then he will find out if there is indeed a hell.
The loved ones and friends who have a hole in their lives that he put there will live with their loss for the rest of their lives because of him. Some think it barbaric but I believe it is just. YMMV.

As I've said it earlier, this guy took a shot at everyone. And he can sleep in hell for it. Same with any indiscriminate killer, I take it personally, and I think everyone should too. F' him. I pray no innocent guy ever gets the death sentence but I think the only thing wrong with the death penalty is we don't do it enough.
i just want to know why it took so long? he should have been killed long ago. we have been paying for his room and board and legal fees for too long!!!
i wish they would broadcast it nationwide. i want to see him cry like a baby and beg for his life and mess his pants!!!!!:gwh:
i hope this brings a little peace to the victims families...they have been through hell for too long..
On the news I heard the Ft. Hood shooter referred to as the "alleged" shooter. :confused: I am aware of political correctness but give me a break. I also heard a lawyer lamenting the fact that due to publicity the 'alleged' shooter might not be able to get a fair trail. Again.... what planet are these people from ?Quote:

Yea Jim, it is silly but the best thing about our justice system is that our innocence is guaranteed and protected until we are proven guilty.
Death penalty isn't an effective deterrent for a very simple reason: try to imagine yourself dead. You just can't, it is impossible for human beings to imagine themselves as non-living. On top of that problem, the majority of the criminals getting caught are of a below average intelligence or imagination.
