Gentlemen, and Ladies!

We here at the Society for the Prevention of Unnecessary and UnWarranted Inculcation of Needless Gimicks (SPUUWING) propose a novel idea that we hope will receive some level of popular support!

Day Day!

Yes, a day put aside as just a day. A day where we can wake up without having to strap on a Red Nose, or shave our heads, or grow a moustache, or phone our mothers (or fathers)! A day solely devoted to being just a mundane, workaday day.

We here at SPUUWING have nothing against causes, nothing at all. In fact, we support causes with gusto! However, it seems to us that every day is a Day somewhere around the world. If we do not act now to reserve just one day to be a normal day, who knows where we may end up? We are running out of days to be Days! Soon, we will have Half Days, then Quarter - the whole gamut of fractional Days in fact.

So, we propose to make today, the 10th of December, Day Day. Take it for yourself. Celebrate the fact that today, of all days, you can just go about your business. Show you care about our days by not having a Day today!
