    Default College turns kids liberal?

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this jewel from Fox News about how college "makes" people more liberal. Here's a glorious quote:

And, so, what is the answer here? How do we fix this? If degrees are making graduates more likely to support same-sex marriage, abortion on-demand, less-likely to support school prayer and American work ethic, how do you fix this?

I'd say this is surprising for fox news but it's not.

This was bad news. Maybe close down all the colleges to prevent kids from getting such unfavorable education?

It really doesn't matter what they think at 22 because at 42 reality strikes... and at 62 everything changes again...

The simple fact is any study or survey can be skewed to fit any point of view statistics are the least accurate of any mathematical model for determining things like this study has done.

In the end our education system lags behind 75% of the world easily, so Fox in their brilliance is more concerned about who is conservative and liberal rather then who is "well educated."

Why even watch this channel it's such a disaster.

This is a telling indictment on modern society. I've never heard of such a thing before. Imagine, young college students being liberally-minded - never before, in the history of man, has such a thing been observed.

    What's that quote - If you're not a liberal when you're 20...

Glen's right people will change their perspective over time. I'm just curious how much of that perspective isn't tied into other commonalities among an age group (i.e. the types and amount of personal responsibility, social awareness, life experiences, etc.). I think that personal experiences are a larger factor in determining political opinion than level of education.

On a separate note, they did admit they couldn't comment on the methodology of the study. Maybe a lot of the students are from particularly liberal institutions/states/families. You can find 14,000 students in CA who may be decidedly liberal whereas if the study took 14,000 students from TX, it might have gone the other way. I don't know about this study, but the devil's always in the details.

Winston Churchill (former Prime Minister of England) said something like..... "If you're not a liberal when you're young you have no heart. If you're not a conservative when you're old you have no brains."
