Global Warming rant (be advised)

Yep! We are @#$%^. Global warming is real and now. We have the means, but not the interest (politically) to make the necessary changes. Capitolism is one of the things that has made our country the GREATEST, but it can also be our downfall. When our government makes environmental policies, these policies are not made for environmental reasons, but for economic reasons. Very backword thinking I think.

Why aren't the movers and shakers from Florida, Hawaii, and other coastal areas putting up more of a show of concern. Where's all the water along the Florida coast going to drain if the sea level goes up 3-4 inches during the next 50 years?

This is true, and another question. Why aren't people concerned about the "lost city of atlanta" effect with their talk about rebuilding New Orleans?

I'd wager it's because 1) they are concerned about the money it would cost to preserve all coastal lines against something that less than half the population is convinced of and 2) those that aren't convinced may believe that carpet baggers are out to get their property at a reduced rate so they can flip it for a huge profit. Just a guess though.

Something that I find interesting is that there is a body of scientist that claims the EPA is partially responsible for global warming. How, one might ask? By requiring a reduction of particle and sulfer emissions from diesel, and coal exhaust.

They claim that the emissions create a mirror effect which blocks and reflects sunlight back into space, counteracting some of the damaged created by excess CO2 production. Now, with reduced emissions, sun energy gingerly penetrates the atmosphere and causes a gentle warming of the earth making a nice souffle'.

I remember in the 70's the enviromentalist were promoting wind turbines. :D And were protesting against nuclear energy. :nono: Now they are protesting wind turbines because they destroy the landscape, and kill migratory birds. Furthermore, they are promoting nuclear energy. What 30 years does to an arguement... :thinking:

All I know is this, I do not know the answer...
