St. Charles Shaving: News about Sue

Gents, I should have posted this last night. Tony Esposito, a member of ShaveMyFace.com works closely with Sue and her product development. Last night he posted sad news, and I'm going to just quote his post:

Members, I don't know if this is the right forum to make this post. I just received an email from Sue. Her husband Dave died today. I don't know the details. She will not be conducting business for a couple of weeks. This had to come as a shock because this afternoon Sue emailed me that Dave was at the store getting some supplies.

Moderator if this is the wrong place to post this information please move it for me.

I am in shock.

Right after I posted this I got to talk to Sue on the phone.

Dave had a major stroke.

She asked to tell everyone who has placed an order that she will try to get it out to you.

However she asks that the members please hold off ordering anything at this time. She will announce when she is back open for business.

I'm very sorry to hear about Sue's loss, indeed. Loss of a loved one is a difficult thing. I wish the family well and know they will support each other in this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you as well.

This saddens me. In my short time straight shaving, there are vendors and vendors that go the extra mile. Sue is one that goes the extra mile. Instead of just filling the order, she takes the time to ask for feedback on her products, points out that she too once lived in the holy land (Wisconsin, that is), and is very greatful for her customers. While I've never met Sue's husband, I do hear that he was the shipping department of St. Charles Shave Co. I do know that he has good taste.

Here's an update from Tony Esposito. Tony is actually responsible for Sue being involved with shaving products, and he has acted as her "test face" throughout the developmental stages. This is an email from Sue to Tony:

thank you for your call. we were at the funeral home until 5 pm. then went to choose all the flowers from there. had company when we got home. lots of food brought to the house. the arrangements should be on the funeral home website tomorrow. either 'H (Dave) Moore' or Howard David Moore, as Dave always usd his middle name. ironic there is another howard moore on the site today. well here is the site and i will send an update tomorrow. arrangements are visitation from 3:30 to 4:30 for immediate faminly and then 4:30 to 9:00 friday. then the at church saturday viitation 11:00 to 1:00 with service at 1:00.
