I just returned home from a wonderful weekend spent at my 30th High School reunion. I grew up in a very rural area in south-central Oklahoma, which when I was young I was sure was the closest one could get to Heaven while remaining in our mortal earthly form. While I have remained in contact with several close friends over the years, I have not seen some of my classmates since that breezy May evening long ago when we received our diplomas and set forth to make our marks on the world.

Once people began to arrive, I was amazed at how comfortably we all still fit. This was not a meeting of former friends who have grown apart and become strangers, this was a meeting of close friends long separated. We quickly fell into conversations ranging from old memories to current events, and were totally at ease regardless of the topic. It was almost as if we had never left each other. I have always felt the bond between childhood friends is unlike any other, and this weekend more than proved my theory.

If any of you have a reunion coming up and are debating whether to attend, I would highly recommend attending. I hope you have as great a time as I did. Thanks for listening.
