Glad you brought this up Bill I've been thinking I'd sharpen pencils for $10.00 each ..... :) Geez .... did I just break the rules ? :w
Why just go for the sharpening when you can get the sharpening and a print for only $60.
This reminds me of the watch winding service I wanted to start. Give me your watch and for a small fee I'll wind it for you. International customers can have a video as well to prove that it was wound!
ARTISANAL : Obviously an anal-retentive artisan who must believe that the rest of the world shares his misconceived idea that an expensive hand sharpened pencil is superior to a mechanically pointed one.
Regards - Walt

So are you saying you would prefer an anal-expulsive artisan to sharpen your pencils?
:p
Following the links off the testimonial page, I am pretty sure this is a joke.
The interview here makes it seem more like a joke than a serious business venture: Three Questions for David Rees About His New Artisanal Pencil-Sharpening Project: The Daily Details: Blog: Details

I am guessing this is an attempt by some guy to make some money, not as an artisan pencil sharpener, but as the guy with a flavor of the day viral website. There will be people dumb enough to part with their money at that site just to say they did it.
How about saving your money and doing it yourself:
Wow Sailor, I'd like to get one of those, it's the cat's a$$. :rofl2:
The cat casts new light on Walt and Frankenstein's comments about an anal retentive/expulive artisan sharpening your pencils.
Would someone please tell me what a pencil is?:)
I'm not spending a dime on pencil honing unless I know what they're using to first set the bevel, hone the pencil, and then I want to know exactly what they're using as a finisher...:)

Metal looks German but I'm not sure about the plastic one. Actually I thought he would have used a blade or other traditional woodworking tool.
I do not think this is a joke and I am sure this guy would take your money if you 'gave' it to him.
I think he thinks it is a joke by mocking how stupid people are.

I wonder if he knows not to use pencil sharpeners made in Pakistan?
He's a political cartoonist. You are paying to be part of the experience, to be part of a statement on the kind of world where people buy sweaters for their dogs, or pay guys to rearrange their furniture and tell them it's going to improve their golf game.
It's a joke, but not a joke.

Jim; How in the heck am I supposed to know if my pencil is truly, properly sharp unless I first experience jotting with one professionally pointed?
