I'm still going over the list that you sent me before and will probably pull the trigger on one of them this weekend. I make decisions kind of slowly... which since I'm getting married soon and am having to make TONS of decisions about wedding/reception/honeymoon it's driving my poor fiancee crazy :)
I think I'll probably hit Tony up for a starter kit as well, if he'll do me one minus the mug/brush/etc. That way I'll have two quality razors to use and a good strop, while I hunt for a project one to practice honing. I'm sure I'll need plenty of practice and would hate to ruin a good restored razor or a good new razor by being inept.
I did go ahead and buy a feather from classic shaving and have started using it to get some shaving practice in during the interim. I've used it three or four times now and have an appreciation for just how darned sharp those things are. It's ok, but honestly I think I'll be happier with a "proper" straight from one of you guys. The feather just doesn't feel "right" for some reason that I can't put my finger on.
