My Girlfriend found this and showed it to me. It got me wondering... and it got me wondering about what you guys would think.

While both upsetting and appalling, I was aware of those things, have been for a while. It lead me to start making my own products. I buy hand made soaps, apart from that I'm self sufficient.

Ever since Queen Elizabeth I covered herself in lead to hide her smallpox scars we've cheerfully rubbed not so friendly substances on our bodies.
I think a small minority care about their health but many more are concerned with how they look and smell.
There is some evidence now which indicates that many sunscreens are actually more likely to cause cancer than the Sun itself, both through the chemicals they contain and the suppresion of vitamin D production.
I think in a world where folk are willing to risk the surgeon's knife in the search for what society regards as beauty, a few mildly toxic chemicals aren't going to cause them much loss of sleep.

I think she "talks with her hands" a lot.

While I agree with her that the system needs to change. I also agree with previous poster that most people just aren't going to care enough.

AND she started mentioning the FDA. The FDA's level of involvement with a product is directly related to how overpriced it is! I'm all for cheap soap and shampoo.

I guess my stance is the old, "Vote with your wallet."
