Thanked: 247BRB LO...The last five letters.
I'd like to think that we'd all agree that texting while driving is just about as dangerous as working under the deck of a riding lawn mower wearing a neck tie and a welding mask, but for curiousities sake. How many of you admit to doing it? It seems I can count on imagining putting my 7000 pounds of steel through at least 5 cars per day, as I witness them texting from the drivers seat. And I only drive about 13 miles per day total. Any thoughts?

I have never "texted" while driving (when did text become a verb?) I don't see it very frequently either, but I don't really look for it, I pay more attention to the motions of the entire cars around me than the drivers of them. And when I am sitting at red lights I tend to look everywhere but at the road. Maybe during those moments I am inwardly wishing I was outside instead of inside the car?
Being anywhere near a roadway is dangerous enough, and life is too fragile to engage in such distracting activities while driving. Maybe survival of the fittest will weed out the worst offenders. Is driving under the influence any worse?Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

I don't text and drive, in fact, I have no idea what the title of this thread refers to in texting lingo, but then again, I am old and no one hipped me to that.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

I have tried. But that was over 7 years ago. [That's the statute of limitations right?]
Why not just call? Very few times that texting is better. As an aside I like the changes in language. Texting is a verb. If you don't like change speak Latin.
Tonight I wish that my wife would have texted me. I was in my deer stand at prime time and my wife called! I looked to see who called and hit the wrong damn button. I put her on speaker phone. SH#T everything within 1/4 mile heard her ask me," Are you hunting honey?"
Sometimes texting is better! LOL

When I was working in Chicago a guy texting in a Lexus ran over a mother and her two children out for a day at the Lincoln Park zoo. I wouldn't even THINK of texting while driving.

Heheh, well I guess I do too; it just takes me awhile to get used to it. In the meantime I like to make fun of the progressive linguists until/unless they can successfully mainstream their changes, and then I silently jump on and pretend it never bothered me to begin with. That way I can make more befriends who will friend me while texting on theirspace brb lo jibberjabber
