Guy, I am sure the comment was in jest. Sometimes you will have someone mention the big pink elephant in the room. Don't take everything so seriously. A lot of timesit takes both sides to banter to make everyone understand the intent....

I read the specifications at the beginning of the thread, was seriously impressed, and looked for a picture of the rifle on the internet.

Seriously guys, I was disappointed, this looks just like your average rifle !

looks are deceiving.. It has a high end scope, match grade trigger. A special stock. A match grade barrel that is thicker and better made than a "normal" rifle. and a few more lickies and chewies that make it a Sniper rifle.
And it isunderstandable that you couldn't tell the difference if you don't have a lot of experience with rifles. It is just like razors... To a person that doesn't know razors, a Keiger looks like an "okay" razor. And a Filly look like a regular cheapo.. It's all about exposure to the product.

Interesting tripod. I would be interested to know how heavy it is and what they do to ensure good follow through? We sure have come a long way! I remember the days of spray painting cheap camera tripods on my own dime, just so I could have some sort of platform...Also interesting is how they use a stock skeleton? Usually you nee that heavy, meaty stock to absorb threcoil and kkeep on target.... I have a Mcmillon, although a great hand made (better than the H.S. presicion) stock, it is one heavy mofo.

edit: oh ok, well maybe I can buy this. Still though that is a creepy photo, why was it ever pointed toward the crowd? That does not seem kosher

Ehrm....

Where else should they point it?
Think about it logically. What is the purpose of the gun?
-> To shoot the ref at a wrong decision? sadly, no.
-> To shoot a player for foul play? Again, sadly not.

So that leaves the crowd. Which makes sense. The sniper is there to take out any urgent threat coming from, or going towards the crowd.
