Going to take my drivers test any tips

well there is deffinatly mixed feelings in this thread, I will keep it simple and answer the question you asked,
1. Put your seatbelt on before you do anything else
2. signal first, then look over shoulder, then change lanes...never do it a different way.
3. if parking down a hill, turn wheels into curb so that if car was to start moving it would stop by hitting the curb
4. if parking up a hill, turn wheels away from curb so that the vehicle can't go anywhere if it started to move somehow.
5. ALWAYS TWO HANDS ON WHEEL! THEY ARE BIG ON THIS, oh and dont touch your cell phone, radio or try shaving in the rearview mirrior :) lol

The four things I noticed the last time I helped someone get their license they had the most trouble with were these in order of importance:

If the vehicle is running, have your seatbelt on

If the vehicle is moving, keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel

Obey the speed limit at all times

Come to a full stop at stop signs and stop lights, making sure the front bumper comes to a full stop behind the sign or light, even if that means you are not far enough ahead to see if any cars are coming. Stop first, then if necessary you can inch forward

I was not aware that a clearance can be effected by a traffic offense. Sounds kinda dumb.

Great advice. My advice would drive in a "technical manner" or by the letter of the local/state laws. Stop sign: Stop, look both ways then proceed. Yellow light means STOP, unless you cannot, not run through. Always use signals and look, as stated, in that order. Backing up check all mirrors and look over your shoulder. Following in traffic the legal distance is one car length for each 10MPH. You cannot be too far back, but you can be too close.
More than anything, BE AWARE of your surroundings and you should do fine.

Oh yea...MAKE SURE THE INSPECTOR PUTS ON HIS/HER SEATBELT ALSO......dirty little trick they use sometimes.

you too sleek ands smooth both have great tips and i trulyt apperciate it im comfortable getting in my truck and driving but its having someone pay that close attention to me. the other resason im not taking my truck is i have a nasty habit of riding with my right hand on the stick and my left foot partially on the top of the clutch but n ot pushing it so if i have to press it its right there.

Correct, this is the essence of passing the test

you guys are settign my mind at ease. i just drive to the letter of the law and froget about old habits or what others are doing around me as far as speeding or what not.

Drive careful like a robot. Parallel parking? Go take your test in one of the cars that parallel park itsself....

As a professional driver, your most important thing to remember is scan your mirrors every 30 seconds or so. Dont keep your eyes off the road, but keep em moving so your always aware of your surroundings. If you don't see it, you won't be able to avoid it. Don't tense up, stay relaxed and you'll do fine

i have taken drivers tests in everything big from a lincoln continental, mk v to a full size dodge van, to an older chevy caprice classic WAGON, just be relaxed, and keep your head about you, being nervous will only make you do more stupid little mistakes that will fail you in the end. and dont believe the family guy line of if you make eye contact, you have to race.
