    Default Fell from 20 ft

Last Saturday there was a bouldering comp at the climbing gym where I go and yesterday i was working on the routes for the girls' finals with a friend.

I bagged 2 out of 3 routes but on one I just reached the top and fell off. There was no crash pad but the gym floor is somewhat soft. 20 feet is not that much, but I don't think I've fallen from any higher... yet... Yeah, nothing like the stories about people falling on rocks from 60 feet and walking away... I hope to avoid such an experience anyway

The staff freaked out but there was absolutely nothing wrong with me, luckily.

Ivo, I'm glad you came out unscathed. Otherwise you'd have had to train your wife in the tonsorial arts

damn man, 20ft is nothing to shy at, quite the fall indeed. Good to hear you came away from that one unscathed.

Thank you all for the concern

I actually thought it was funny, more than anything else. In climbing circles 20 ft would be like nothing to talk about (and I haven't actually told my climbing friends). Moreover, the floor is like this of a wrestling gym - pretty soft... The thing is that I didn't even think about the fall but started shouting obscenities because I couldn't finish the route (both hands on the last 'stone') and the people who worked there thought I was hurt so they freaked out a bit

    Cheers
    Ivo

I've got news for you: 20 feet is a serious fall regardless of what surface you land on. People have been killed during martial arts practice falling from heights of 3-4 feet. Good to hear you're OK.
