Nanny State Strikes Again!

If you include the retired and the children in that number, then it becomes possible, but in that case I argue that you're presenting the numbers in such a specific way just to make them agree with your opinion. Because then the fact that 50% pays no income tax has absolutely nothing to do with whatever form of government is in place.

If you include only the number of people who are expected to bring in a paycheck vs the people who actually do, the numbers will not be close to 50%. Not even remotely.

I find this thread, and others regarding politics interesting. How did we get from buying beer on Sunday before 11AM to abortion, gun control, which day the Sabbath is celebrated (by the way it was Saturday long before the first Christian walked the earth),Socialism, Blue laws...etc...

1OLDGI, I remember when Coors beer was boot leg in Florida as well.

Me too. When I left here in the summer of 1980 to join the Air Force, the only Coors I had ever drank was smuggled in when friends visited relatives in Texas. When I completed Basic Training and Tech School, my first assignment was in Idaho. I really thought I was pooping in the tall weeds because I could drink Coors every day, all the time.

Threads just drift, like any discussions and opinions.

I remember when Coors was sold in Dallas but not in Houston. I was living in Houston so I picked up a couple of cases and was driving home.
A trucker spotted them on my front seat and called me on the CB asking if they were cold. He asked me to pull over. Word quickly spread and I had several truck on the side of the road buying beer from me at $1 / can. LOL.

Is there something special about Coors, or was it just the only beer available?

Some of the posts sound like you could get other beer, but Coors was something special - which doesn't make sense to me.
