Well, seeing as flyboy was referencing the Norwegian prices in his post, I figured I'd give the Norwegian minimum wage to him. Yes, it is about USD 25 in most lines of work a bit more in many areas. With a degree you' get more
When I got my drivers license at age 16 ( 1972 ) the min.wage was 1.60 us and gas was .39 cents .So with some simple math, 1 hour of my labor would buy me 4 gallons of gas. Today the min.wage here is 7.50 and gas today is 3.38 or less than 2 gallons for 1 hour of labor, I like the good old days !!!!!!!
Holy carp!

I remember when the minimum wage was $1 an hour and gas cost 26 cents a gallon.
Of course horses don't eat gas so I suppose that's why gas was so cheap back then.:)
On a side note:
I get a kick out of us comparing gas prices between European countries and America.
In Europe, many of th countries tax oil insanely high because they have the infrasructure to provide alternatives - like high speed trains. Moreover, Europeans as a whold don't travel the expansive distances Americans do.
If prices for gas in America ever went as high as our European brothers - America and the world would fall into a depression on a scale that would make our past "recession" seem like the good old days lol!!
That is 100LL ( low lead ) NOT for use on highway. But it sure used to make my old shovel head run run like a scalded cat. AND it smells like car exhaust used to smell "back in the day".
This ethanol enhanced crap their selling us now is great for ruining small engine parts.
well min wage here in pa is 7.25 an hr and gass is 3.35 a gal and it cost me about 3 gal of gas just to ge to work and back one time of course thats a 18 mile trip one way. so i have to have a minimum of 35 hrs a week just to break even.
wullie i couldnet agree more about the (moonshine) they are putting in our it reaks havioc on my truck too its carburated and you can tell a diffrence in the stuff than older gass without it. the good side of a carb is you can adjust it pretty easy for diffrent fuel mixtures.
