Well I started by pinning the patch and the patch would move during the hand sewing (no machine). Finally I pinned the patch in 5 places and sewed it on and that worked....but during the sewing and pinning I caused some of the threads in the patch to come loose which make up the letters, thats when I really messed it up trying to fix that...shortly after the patch cought on fire.Quote:

Patches tend to wiggle a lot if you pin them in place. I find it works much better to just roughly sew the patch on in the middle using an octagon pattern (bigger is better, but keep it inside the border). The more times you go around and the more you stagger subsequent stitches, the less the patch will wiggle. It's easy to rip out if you put it on crooked, and there aren't any pins to get in the way when you do the actual sewing.
