Thread: Can any reccommend a good online brokerage?

I have researching. For an online web broker. Scottstrade comes up as one of the best. Does anyone have a preferred broker site?

I would suggest speaking to a licensed financial advisor in person. They can help you assess your risk tolerance, timeline, and goals. If after consulting with an advisor, you still feel the need to engage in online gambling, I suggest poker instead.

Yea, i do the licensed broker too... This is more for me to do as a personal thing.

Is not gambling,been with etrade for years,never a problem,all there brokers have to be licensed by law.

Have you considered Ameriprise?

You can have an online personal account there as well as other accounts managed by a licensed financial advisor that you can meet with on a regular basis.

Just an idea.

Thanks, I will check them out. Although I didn't see them on the top best broker list? I did see etrade though.... The only con on Etrade was the prices of trades.

I saw them, but aren't they prices steep? Are they worth the extra cost?

I use Scottrade for my on-line gambling & can't say anything negative against them at all & I've been with them for 5+ years. I've made a little and lost a lot (remember Fannie May, Freddie Mac, General Motors, Chesapeake Energy, etc.)...I was invested in them all & lost my tail. Got to write it off on the taxes though as you have proof of your gambling losses & gains. I like the idea of someone not making a percentage off a loss or a gain or paying for "advice". Scottrade also offers some real good research tools.
