We, too, may have to agree to disagree. And this is going off the subject so I won't enter into this discussion further.
The facts remain that a deranged man has planned and spent some time buying and building equipment to cause mass destruction. Something that could happen in your country just as easily as America. The fact that you are focussed on the gun element and not the fact that there was a very large bomb setup involved, tells me you have the mentality that your queen and country want you to have. The one that thinks inanimate objects are out to murder people. People murder people! Hell the english have been doing it for centurys. They certainly didn't always use guns and bombs performing these atrocitys. However lets look at something a little closer to our own time to help put it in perspective for you: Derrick Bird, killed 12 injured 11, used a firearm. Location Cumbria, year 2010. Michael Robert Ryan, killed 16, injured 15. Two semi automatic rifles and pistol. Hungerford, 1987. What was the response to this case? Look into public mental health issues? No! Tighten up gun laws. That'll fix it! Did it help? No. Refer to Derrick Bird for the evidence of that. Speaking of which, the response to Birds shooting? BBC postponed showing "Coronation Street" until the next day. That must have had the country in an uproar hey?!
And here I was thinking the UK had strict firearms laws, keeping it's citizens safe from that kind of thing.
