Thanked: 485The Conversation or The Finer Things In Life?
The Conversation or The Finer Things In Life? That is the question. I decided on The Conversation. The other was too presumptuous.
A Mid week Carl Poem...Well, not really a poem, a thing...
...And now, by your eyes, I see that I'm boring you. So let's have another glass of wine and consider the sunset, the people, and the bay; intensely and with jutted jaw and narrowed eyes. I'll cross one leg over the other, and pretend I'm not upset. I'll pretend it doesn't matter while I make plans to leave you, and live on a farm in Portugal. Cobblestones. I want cobblestones in the early morning light while going to gather bread. But for now, my fingers inquisitively investigate a greying-haired chin, Platonic mind enquiring, pretending not to care...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485And now number two, I'm feeling productive; an old 'poem' mixed with a new..
I want to write a poem
One that will make you
(while seated in a wicker chair in the garden)
Place down that book
And gaze, fixatedly
On the pond
And on it
A flock of ducks landing
Splashing across the water
Their wings flapping at the air
Braking
Their heads held back
Feet forward
Braced taut
And then, gliding smoothly
As if nothing even happened
I want to write a poem
(while seated in a wicker chair in the garden)Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
