NASA To Make Major Mars Discovery Next Month

I know people who don't believe we landed on the moon. No way will they think we have robots on mars.

I hope they found something that will be sufficiently valuable / interesting / important that it will trigger a race to mars, so that we finally do something interesting as a species. I sometimes hear about people wishing they'd been born earlier. Rubbish, I say. I regret not being born several centuries later, when we're actually crawling out of this solar system.

The Chinese are going to get the moon's Helium-3 so let's hope there's something on Mars for the USA to bank ;)

Yes. And they did it in under 10 years. And since then, the space race dropped on its ass.
The best thing that could happen to humanity would be to discover proof of alien life. It would encourage us to get into space.

On the flip side: it might encourage us to stop fighting each other. And it definitely give a huge boost for science and aerospace engineering
