Carhartt or Dickies for me, but really thinking about a pair of jeans from Men's Workwear, Women's Work Wear, Work Clothing
My wife bought me several pairs of Carhartt's 3-4 years ago at a Christmas sale and they are still going strong, just faded a bit. The Dickies are the cheapest heavier denim I can find for work at $20. The denim on my "nice" Cinch jeans is literally thinner than some Docker khaki's...
Good quality jeans at a fair price is tough now days...
Yeah Levi's are dropping off my list also, I wear Carpenter Jeans most of the time around the house, and have decided that I like the Wranglers better now, after the last 2 pair of Levi's I ordered... Boot cuts, I have been wearing Wranglers for years (The wife says Wrangler butts drive her nuts :p) Levi's 501 were my goto until about 2002, I kept noting they seemed thinner..
I am seriously thinking of trying the Duluth Trading Co. Firehose Jeans next just to see.. supposedly they are still US made..
I guess I wear Levi's when I'm on the bike, but I haven't bought any in a while. The uniform of the day has been Red Head Cargo Pants although I do have a couple pair of Cabela's as well. I can carry more guns with these than the jeans........:shrug:

Hey that reminds me! I have tried those 5.11 "tactical" jeans with the built in holsters for deep concealment once. They are what they are. Not the toughest - great for travel (to hide the diamonds and all - you know :) )... but fwiw, they weren't the most comfortable.Quote:

Landsend has had good jeans (at least in the past). Periodically they sell a more premium jean around $50 that is supposedly a different weave and a better die process. I have a couple pair and they have held up well. Of course if you want to go really premium, Bills khakis sells jeans around $150 as I recall. I don't know much about them however they seem to sell very high quality mdse and it's partly made in the U.S.

Lee Riders - My choice for over 50 years.
I am kinda finicky on how my jeans fit so I buy whatever actually fits right and feels durable. Whether its Levi, Wrangler, or Lee doesn't matter to me. Its kinda who I am. I prefer that what I buy function the way it should.
I like lots of pockets , cargo pants, ex military etc.. but the jeans I wear are Lugz, lots of pockets again & heavy denim.
