    Default Skype is Awesome!!

Well Nenad tried to tell me about a week ago how clear skype was...well I just tried calling a friend of mine and it sounded like he was sitting right next to me. This is better by far than my land line or cell phone...I am thinking of switching my voip phone over to skype once I move.

    I love it

Josh, I wouldn't do it if I were you. It's only as reliable as your internet connection and sometimes it's going to be down or slow. One of my enumerators had it and was almost impossible to talk with.

    Skype rocks IMHO.
Not a replacement for a phone for above reasons, but it IS really cool.

Even cooler, there's a new phone coming out in first quarter 2007 which is a mobile that automatically hops onto unsecured wi-fi spots to make skype calls for free. How cool is that? Ice cold.

When I'm less lazy I'll find a linky to the story I read on it...

They are selling one of those now on skype.

As far as making skype my main phone, I can deal with some days of crappy service, as I'll still have my cell phone. its around 1/10th the cost of a regular voip phone and so compatible with the internet and email as it lets me click and dial numbers and it imports all my contacts.

Man this thread is making me even more jealous of those of you who live somewhere where things other than dialup exist. Of course the county is supposed to be up and running with free wirless internet by the end of next year but I ain't holding my breath. If you want to talk to me my number is BFE452 just tell the operator she'll connect you
