The Constitution?

Those ships that end up at the bottom of the ocean and those planes that get retired do more for your freedome and safty than you know, in addition to making war, those ships also save mariners stranded at sea and stop drug trafficing, I should know I spent the last 2 years of my life on a ship patroling the Carabian and those planes also are used for humanatarian releaf, and the men and women on these ships and planes are workig on platforms that are alot of times over 20 years old, I dont like GOV spending any more than you but making military cuts a focal point is not a good decision as much as cutting our budget was. but we will press on like we always do and hope when the poop hits the fan we can do what we need to with outdated equipment and training. But thes is just MHO

Read my post carefully. I am specific in stating that these are necessary. I don't reject that claim and am fully aware of their benefit. However they do not make a gallon of milk any more affordable. They help preserve life but do not improve the quality of it.

It never has and it never will, the military is not set up to grow the economy it is her to protect it, its like insurance for your vehicel, does it pay for gas or make it run better, no but if it gets in the poo then its there. Not trying to sound disgruntled or anything just been getting into this lately with alot of people who feel I shouldnt even have a job and the military should be put on the back burner. But I do respect your openion and commend you for voicing your openion.

Don't interpret my comments as negative. We are more in ageement than you imagine. My comments are in dIrect resPonse to the idea that military spending is good for n economy. It's good. But it may not be good for an economy.

Understand able and it was just me flying off at the handle, I do apoligize, and I am in the general agrement we are going to have some bad times ahead.

The real question I have, and I don't expect an answer, are the bad times ahead part of the plan? It seems to me that they must be by design.

Why is this paid under military spending? If these things are so frequent or so important to have a significant impact then they have to be covered by a separate funding.
If the US military is providing security in certain parts of the world so that private companies can conduct business there that is a corporate welfare.

May be it is time to drop the fear mongering and face the facts - how much spending is necessary to ensure that US is capable to defend itself from foreign invasion? Anything above that is by definition wasteful spending and those who are paid for it are far bigger moochers than those on welfare because they take far more money while not producing anything useful. Anything under that is exposing the country to the danger of being taken over by foreign power.

Again, you may be closer to the truth than you imagine.

I'm sure this will lead to Lawsuits. Remember how Arizona was sued for enforcing Federal Immigration laws? Now the States are pushing back to enforce the Constitution.
