Yeah i know, Why the hell would anyone want to do that? I was made to run when i was in the military and learned to love it. I ran my first half marathon last Nov in 2:16. After a 2 month hiatus b/c of the cold im starting back up. Anyone else?

I do enjoy running, when you first start it sucks but once you get past that it is a great stress reliever. I don't do marathons but I do get in a run every morning to start my day.
I run less often than I used to. In fact, I intended to be running right now. Instead, I'm on this forum...
3.5 mi 5x's per week in the foothills above Boise. Age 58.
I run the sprint relays; I carry a can of diet Dr. Pepper from the refrigerator, to the Samsung 48" LED, to the computer for SRP, to the bathroom, then back to the refrigerator. I run this relay at least 4 times a day. :beer2:
i do enjoy running, done two marathons and a whole bunch of halfs. planning on trying a triathlon some time this year (hopefully). i have not been running much the past couple months because work has just been getting in the way,
I used to be one at collegiate level. I started because I had an innate ability, but stopped doing it at competitive level because I started too late. It seems that for every sport that I practice, time is against me. I started cycling about 3 years ago and after one practice my friend's coach told me "had you discovered cycling 5 years ago". Now I run and cycle more for the masochist aspect of it, every years I want to do a longer ride than last year, and I want to run more than last year. Now both running and cycling are time consuming so I am going for not only quantity, but quality, by keeping a good balance of distance and altitude gain.
I do love to run, and as often as I possibly can.
For years now, I have been running four to six times a week.
My current form is decent, but always looking for better performance.
At present, I run a 10K in about 38 minutes, a half marathon in an hour and a half, and the full marathon in around 3 hours +
Fantasic records Birnando!!
I am a runner my self. I run (all year round) 3-4 times per week (25-30km) and much more before races. My marathon PB is 4:29 (Athens Classic Marathon -which is quite tough), half marathon 1:50 and 10km 50'.
During the last year I really enjoy mountain running!
I haven't done in a too long time.
i used to ... now i just kneel down with my hands on the back of my head !!!:dropjaw:
no really i dont think i could run 100 yards before i feel over ... i could walk for miles though without blinking an eye !! cross country type running always interested me , i just never did it
A 38 min 10k dang!!!!!!!!!! My fastest is 55min. I was going to run a full this spring but it didnt work out so it got differed(?) to next year. I would love to run Boston or NY someday but it seems really hard to get into those. Maybe someday
pretty good times for your runs there guys, my last marathon time was about 5 hours and my last half was 2 hours. Ill be sure to beat your times next time lol
I love to run, I have completed one Marathon (London 2007), I won't embarrass myself by telling everyone the time, suffice it to say that the guy in the Rhino suit beat me.
I only run 10K at the moment, I find that distance just about right.
The problem with Doha, is that there's only around 4 or 5 months of the year that are cool enough (for me under 30 C) to run outside and only really a couple of places you can run.
When I travel to London, I stay with my ex partner who lives close to Epping Forest and it is a real joy to run surrounded by trees (and anything green really). A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to have snow, I ran for 4 hours that day.
easyace, i know how you feel, the worst runs i have ever had were summer time in Iraq (not sure if its hotter in Qatar). and the worst part was i couldnt even take a cold shower afterward to cool down ALL the water was hot.
I love running, I did triathlons some years ago, and now I run a few times a week to keep in shape. I run ina small forest preserve about a10 minute run from my house. Very relaxing.
I started running around 2002 and decided to train enough to run a full marathon in 2004 IIRC; although I was by no means a fast runner I became addicted to it. The "runner's high" truly was a payoff after every run for me. I ligament injury (thankfully not a complete tear) during that marathon put a halt to my running immediately. I did complete the race which I would have done even if I would've had to crawl across the finish line, but it really was something to go from a 5 day a week runner to literally zero that fast; it was harsh. It turned my world upside down. I have not run since. I'm getting into resistance training now which I can do from home and also vigorous outdoor work for extended periods around my homestead that more than kicks in endorphins. Relying completely on one form (running) for exercise, stress relief a sense of well being, etc was my downfall at the time. With running I was "all in" and I should have varied things more than I did.
It was great while I was doing it and I was in the best shape of my life then.

Been running for the last year or so!! (I say running it's more of a jog :p) I try to run around 3 times a week anywhere from 4 to 6 miles a run. I am slow. My nike running app is about to hit 300 miles and my average is 9.07 per mile. Winter has sucked and I haven't ran as much as I would like but it's starting to warm up.
Man, I wish I could find a bike seat that is actually comfortable. I've tried quite a few different ones from skinny hard seats to wide gel seats. All seats seam to be murder on me. They all seem to require that all my body weight from the glutes upward rest on my inner pelvic bones. My glutes don't get sore, it's deeper than that and much more tender and painful; it's like the bones get bruised. I've joked that I think the ideal bike seat for me would be a large metal tractor seat. I don't know how you guys do it.
