13/16 Wade & Butcher wedge in custom inlaid bocote scales
Hello everyone, here is my latest custom scale project :
This is the razor as I received it, pretty rusty and the scales were eaten away on the other side (this is the seller's pic).
Finished product, I have always loved the "straight scales, curved blade" look. The escutcheon is hammered nickle silver.
The other side, figured bocote is a nice looking wood.
Cleaned up really nice after some sanding and polishing, the edge is nice and polished as well after being run on a 12k finisher and 1 and .5 micron strops.
The other side. Some warping is present in the finish, the pitting was very deep in places and I didn't want to grind on this blade, still looks great though.
The spacer is made from ebony reclaimed from an old piano key.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I used polyacrylic gloss as finish on these scales.
