Thanked: 203Steel, Stone and Horn
Finally finished this one up today. i posted the brush a couple weeks back in the Brushmaker's page of the Forum and now have the set done.
This was a Dovo that i cleaned up a little while back, but hated the white plastic scales, so it was selected for this project. Was extra slow as this was all hand tools and the last month with only one arm functioning after a bike accident. No excuses - just shows that anybody can have a go.
Scales and Brush handle are honey coloured horn {real PITA with warping and de-laminating} translucent in light. Brush knot is silvertip badger from TGN. Cap on brush and wedge in scales are recon Turquoise. Mosaic Pin in wedge end of scales. Pivot and second pin are 24K gold plated torx screws to match the gold on the blade.
Double sided paddle strop has a Merbau body. Balsa pasted with CrOx on one side and Leather sanded and polished to 2K on the other finished with neatsfoot oil.
Honing Super Naniwa 1K, 5K, 10K, 12K. Excellent shave.
Crappy phone pics. Will sort camera before next one posted, A dozen more in the works so lots of much needed practise on scales.
Regards,
Adam
