First restore/custom 11/16" Norton
Ok the intention was a pure restore on an eBay special for practice without trashing my good razors, so just started clean up on the blade with polish & I found a crack which turned into a scollop piece so decided to do complete rebuild with custom scales
Razor is about a 11/16" Norton
Scales are Burdiken Plum coated in CA Glue to stabilise it
wedge is mystery hard wood from a block. I had with brass liners
Brass pins, hand coned washers, & hand thinned thrust washers
I was going for a satin brushed look on the blade after I fully polished itLast edited by Substance; 09-21-2013 at 12:08 PM.

I clicked on this thread because of the 11/8"...
Oh well, I really like your scales and the lining and I hope the blade turns out to be a good shaver. I understand the necessity of removing as much as you did, but it's not my cup of tea. Still, beats throwing away!I want a lather whip

Nice I dig the scales
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Like I mentioned I was going full original resto 1st as I have done the resto on the original horn scales also which I think came up good for their condition, but the blade shape made me think have some fun go for something different that you couldn't with full blade.
I think it would be a good transition from a shavette with its shape
It I was all just practice for the next .Last edited by Substance; 09-21-2013 at 09:43 PM.
