It's been a while since I've posted. This razor that I just finished for a customer was so unusual to me that I thought to share it. I love framebacks and this one being unusual that the spine and tang are gold. At first I thought it was brass as it is not magnetic. It fell off the my jig which got me interested. It has a tiny sample hole drilled in the base of the monkey tail. Somebody had proofed it much earlier. Good thing that it honed up well. It has a registration number on the tang of 2434 dated 10 September of 1860. I'm not too sure the scales are original but they are old enough to be. It was found in an antique shop and sold for $30.00. It's going to be a family heirloom for this customer.
