W.H. Compton "Reliance" In Blue Acrylic

Hello Gents. Just thought I'd share a weekend project with you all. This is a W. H. Compton 6/8 that was in very good shape but needed scales. Went with transparent blue acrylic, and bronze acrylic wedge (not that you can make out the color anyway - shoulda just put blue). There are some little scuff marks where I pinned and overall I still can't pin like I want.
Brass pins, washers and inside pivot washers. Just honed it and anxious to see how it shaves tomorrow.

Mainly wanted to post to say thanks to all that have posted their tips on SRP - just trying to soak it all in!

Pin job looks good and seems to compliment the blue scales. We like it..............

Well at this point in time my honing is hit or miss, and today's shave was a hit! Love a buttery shave.

I have always like that Deep Blue color, IIRC that first time I saw it was on a Filarmonica and I fell for it :)

The workmanship looks tight and well balanced :nj

I have that color of Fili blue on my EPBD..no matter how much I want to rescale it I just can't bring myself to do it..lol.

Thanks Glen - always appreciate it.

I thought the acrylic would be "chippy" at the edges but it was really a pleasure to work with. Can't wait to do some more - course I'd have to find some more razors first :)

I wish I had a Filly sitting in those scales :)
