Gettin' by with a little help from my Friends!
I love to restore, but admittedly am pretty much a "hammer and screwdriver" guy!
I would like to share an old razor I have had for a while which was discussed in this thread: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...n-salford.html I gleaned a good bit of knowledge of it and was happy as my friend Neil Miller came onboard to solve the maker question as he does so often.
Another fine friend, Darl (Tarkus) has been making some outstanding scales and wanted a victim for some honey horn. I sent him the blade and he had come up with an idea of making a paper cutout of the blade and of different scales so he could lay them on a lighted panel to see what looked best! We both decided that the W&B style looked pretty darn nice, so he made these scales and lead wedge and pinned them on in a fine manner! (my pinning now sucks!)
The featured brush was turned by another friend, Bill (Pixelfixed) of African Blackwood with 440 stainless trim and an ivory inlay on the base. The knot is a 2 band badger, set nice and low like I like them!
I DID manage to hone the razor myself! It shaves like a dream and the brush performs brilliantly.

Thanks Friends! I owe you all some serious "hammer and screwdriver" work! Tom :D
