Default Had to redo my resto on Satinedge

Not to be redundant here but I had to do this over. A bit.
Something about leaving the shaft polished and the letters blank just didn't seem right for this razor. Something was missing to my eye. After casting about for some info I was given some original advertising literature on this razor which indicated the shaft was "Satin finished". Hmmmm

Also on another post I showed photos which seemed to point to gold in the lettering on the shaft. I used some thinner, removed some wax build up and low and behold it glittered! There was gold in there after all.

So I broke the razor down again and using the pattern of Gold from one of my Goldedges I made a Satin finish on this razor. Then I added the Gold to the script and seeing that the ducks had a different finish I decided to use the DD blue as found on the Goldedge. Is it correct? Well I think it's closer than leaving the shaft polished and the letters blank.
Here are some shots showing the evidence that made me redo the blade and lettering. Looking at the before photos you can also see how the shaft has a matte finish which seems like it would have ended right where the blob of rust is sitting.
Silly? Maybe. But I found it interesting and fun to research.

First two shots showing the before where the matte finish is seen compared to the blade itself. Also some gold which didn't appear this obvious to the naked eye!
Shots 3, 4 + 5 show the remnants of the gold after cleaning up the blade.
The last shots prepping the shaft prior to lettering and paint.
