My Dovo is being rescaled as well, don't mind the black plastic, inlay on the scales, they just seem to flimsy.
So, going to go similar with with a honey or blond horn, am keeping the original scales for later...maybe there's a new form of razor addiction, RRAD, Rescale Razor Addictive Disorder??
Hey - I figure why not take a generic razor and personalize it to your liking. I love the dark buffalo horn and various shades of the blonde horn, the unique scales that Val creates, works so well for me, why not. I've kept the original scales for the Bismarck, so if I ever sell it, they can keep it the way I have it, or put the original scales back on.
Only bummer in terms of scales, was I thought the W&B 17/16 Anchor razor I have that the scales were fine, would have been nice to have that one with original scales, have only one other W&B 5/8 wedge with original scales, and it would have been nice to keep the Anchor original. It's getting done in black buffalo horn, to at least try and match the original color.
Nice modification
The horn & brass adds a much higher class of finish compared to the original celluloid
I love it
I totally agree... If something can be improved upon by customization why not ! 200 years from now someone may want the original scales but as I always say "it's my money I'll do what I want" I am glad that I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on this razor because I thought people would think me foolish for wasting my time and money
Hell it looks better than when it left the factory in Solingen. Good job!
