Wade & Butcher frameback
I started a thread a while back about a razor that was given to me by a coworker. I have slowly been making some head way. It is definitely a slow process. Here are some "before" and "during" photos. Hopefully I will be posting some "after" photos on here soon.
The pivot hole in the razor is worn to a kind of oblong shape. Any suggestions on how to repair for pinning?Last edited by Smithbobbylee; 02-02-2014 at 09:15 PM.

Great work!
I was stunned at the first time I shaved with a frameback, I didn't know what to expect from such a razor, but was astounded at the closeness, ease of use, and how it just felt perfect in the hand.
That looks like a fine frameback, be interesting to hear from you what your thoughts on shaving with it are.
Cheers!

That blade is looking beautiful. As for the oversize pivot hole, the easiest fix is to tape one side, carefully gob some epoxy in there and scrape it flush with a Popsicle stick, then drill it out again after it cures hard.
The less mess you make, the less sanding and scraping it will take to get off the excess. It's an easy fix, and one I've had to do on all the handful of old Sheffield blades I've restored so far.

Thanked: 105For the pivot hole I use a piece of brass tubing 3/32" od works most of the time. Cut to the width of the tang, the use a tapper punch to flare the ends, then file flush. The id is just right for 1/16 rod.

+1 to the 3/32 tubing.
Can't get much easier than that!
