    Default Heljestrand Frameback

Hi All,Part two of a restore i posted about a week ago. A client had a set of hair clippers and a razor with a brief to restore to a condition fit for display piece.
Clippers came up perfect and work fine. Razor has such wear that shave ready was not a consideration.
So this one is an old frameback in bakelite scales pinned in brass with no external and brass internal washers.Markings on one side of tang only. Jimped thumbnotch underneath and jimping on top. Stamps read; C.V.Heljestrand. Eskiltu II^Prisbelont. To the left of this stamp and perpindicular to it is London 1851.To the right of this stamp and perpindicular to it is Paris 1855.It is all a bit hard to read, but got it under the magnifying glass and pretty sure that is correct. Oh, and the ^ is as big as the other letters.
Scales had a heap of white gunk i thought was old shave soap, but nothing would loosen it. Does bakelite deteriorate? Anway, sanded it all back down. Small crack near pivot that did not go right through the scale, but to be safe I stabilised it with CA.
Happy with how it looks. All clean, no rust, but definite aged look. Owner is thrilled too and that is most important.
    Enjoy, Adam
