Gam In Abalone
Hey All,
just finished up this one. Tang is stamped "Gam" in flowing script on one side and "Merx and Co, Solingen" on the other.
5/8" blade with jimping top and bottom of tang. Cleaned up well, and as always, put a good coat of ren wax on the tang working into pivot and jimping before assembly.
Laminated green tinted Abalone Scales, clear polycarbonate wedge, nickel silver pins, brass washers inside and stainless washers outside.

how does it shave?
I have a GAMerx #250 I inherited from my G.Dad not as blingy as this but the blade it is an awsone smooth shaver
haven't seen very many Merx & Co razors, what were the original scales like did you still have them?Saved,
to shave another day.

smooth shaver - no complaints.
the original scales were black plastic and a three pin design. Personally i prefer no centre pin. Biggest problem was one broken at the pivot and the end missing. Long gone, sorry.
The blade still shows some age in the patina and pitting, but the edge is sound and true.
