cleaned up a bit and adjusted the heel
funky scales in red & black G10, white G10 wedge, brass pins and stacked collars. funky design for a customer, wanted something "unique, short scales" I know its not everyones cup of tea but let me know what you think.
Hey if he is happy then it is all good!
Nice job :tu
I like it!! How does it feel in the hands?
Interesting. Got a pic of it open straight for stropping? How do the scales and tang fit together? Just curious. Looks like you filled the brief nicely.

Very interesting and cool change of pace - nicely done!
Walterbowens-feels surprisingly sweet both at the hones and the strop as well as fully opened and held to the face in shaving posture. that's of the utmost importance to me when I design. if it don't feel balanced and strop efficiently I take it apart and scrap that design! as I was doing this one I was extremely skeptical because of the double jog in the scales but if you draw a line down connecting the pins, I tried to keep the mass equal and fairly mirrored on both sides of that line. came out balanced, im happy, customer is happy with pics, sending it out tomorrow for the real test......will they like the shave:hmmm:
fully opened the tang fits inside the matching curve of the scales nicely, see the photos to see the relationship. fully opened the spine and both pins are closely aligned and the mass of the scales is roughly centered on either side of the line so it really feels quite good when stropping, no issues. im thrilled it actually worked out well;)
I like it, nice design work!
I have quite a few Clauss razors so this post caught my eye. It looks like it might be a pain to strop?? I have a Dovo La Forme with the curved handle and it is a pain in the *** to strop. Nice work
it strops surprisingly well, i was worried about the balance when i was designing it but it turned out perfect. i think the problem with the "la forme" is in the balance of the handle, it wants to "flop" back and forth while stropping rather than rotating the mass around a centered line.
Nice looking blade! very interesting scales! Enjoy!
Love the scale design. Well done!
A little off the beaten path!!
BUT,, I kind of like to take the route less traveled myself also!!
Well done!! Nice lines!!

Wow, very unusual, I really like it! Hats off to the designer, excellent choices there.
Great design. An artist when it comes to scales, and have you all seen his Custom Razors line? Check them out!!!
I think it looks sweet! Great work regardless if it's someone's cup o tea... and like chevhead said as long as the customer likes it, then that's all that matters. You got my vote!
Quite bold design, interesting and completely of of the box :)
Very nice work :tu
Great variation on the theme of scales. Innovative design par excellence!
Great design and beautiful work.
The scale design works well - I just think it's wasted on such a conventionally shaped razor. A hump back would suit it so much more.
I think the straight lines of the blade are perfectly suited to the scales. They create a dramatic contrast that accentuates the elegant curves of the scales. Perfect.
Creative and handsome design and excellent craftsmanship
