Towa restoration

Always makes me nervous when other restorers send me razors to restore . This one came it a bit worse for wear as you can see.
The blade, being as thin as a DE, made removing all the pits nearly impossible unless it became tin foil. The shafts and spine cleaned up surprisingly well with the goal being not to remove the stampings both front and rear.
The scales though injection molded were cleaned up, removed the flashing and polished the best I could without removing the characters that match the ones on the face of the razor.
The characters from what I understand translate as Towa registered, on the face, and on the reverse read, special strong iron ( steel) product.

This blade would have been a good match for my Carved Ivory Cherry Blossom scales!

Ps the lettering is in korean not japanese (like other towa 77)... After talking to my mother who was a history teacher in Korea she says after the japanese occupation of Korea there was little trade until the Tokyo Olympics happened 1964 I believe ... There were many japanese items rebranded to market for the flood of Koreans who visited japan for the first time after the occupation (lots of resentment still there)... This also happened during the korean Olympics as North Korea produced razors to commemorate it although the Olympics were in South Korea... This Fits with the age of the towa 77... Either that or this razor was built during the occupation, this however seemed unlikely according to my mother as the japanese didn't bother rebranding things in korean during that time...

Again I can't thank you enough... It's going to a home that'll love it and cherish it..
