Hello all, hope all is well. Just wanted to share my first restore with you. I got this razor as a freebie when i purchased my Pipe razor and thought it would be good to practice on and learn some restoration skills. It has no stamp and was in pretty rough shape. I unpinned the blade and cleaned it up best i could and repinned it. I did leave a couple of deep scratches from where i removed some of the deeper rust, but all in all it came out ok. Looking under magnification, the edge had many small chips so i started with a Norton 220 and worked up to a 1k, 4k, and finally an 8k and finished with a strop. I used 1/4 Norton set from Whipped Dog to hone it. The razor shaved great and I am excited that i did this from start to finish on my own. I did distress the scales a bit though trying to clean them up, haha. Any info on how to correct that would be great. I believe they are horn. It's not perfect or even how i pictured it, but I am happy with the way it came out and performed. Anyway, thanks for looking and thanks for all the great info shared here which I always use as a reference when learning and trying new things. Have a blessed day.
