That's actually centered the etching up better than the original Tom. Looks like a beautiful razor now.

Thanks! It is interesting...as I get one like this done successfully.. I feel the need to do another few before the luck runs out!;)
I always unpin using a spinning 1/16 drill press and gently bringing the pin up to it. I save most collars and do little damage using this technique. After the pin is drilled thru the center, a bit of wobbling the razor will usually eat the flair out.

Great work Tom. That's a perfect example of thinking on the fly. You found cracks so you used what you needed to still use the scales. Those collars don't look bad at all in that ivory. A trend setting moment me thinks.

How do you suppose they etched that onto that ivory before there were lasers and the such?
Heck it looks far cleaner and nicer then any laser etching I've seen.
