    Default Joseph Rodger Restore

Working on this razor for a young gent in NC. Worked in mahogany. Hate to send it to its' new owner, but the enjoyment it will bring him, will make me happy knowing it was worth the efforts.

Always nice to see a Joseph Rodgers get some TLC and put back into service !!
I bet that mahogany is even "redder" than it looks in the pics.
Was there anything really wrong with the original horn scales ?
BTW, that's a nice scale design you've come up with.

Owner had removed scales and wanted custom. Thank you so much for the kind words. The scales are deep red Cabernet.

    Lovely work!

I'm always surprised by mahogany; it looks so bland...until you get a finish it. And that Cabernet's a terrific shade!

When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.

Like how you got the scales thin and the wedge end is neat. Reminds of a stock on an old rifle! Fits nicely!

Nice job reviving that blade! I love the richness of the mahogany, nice choice. Also, good job going thin enough on the scales, see lots of wood scales left too bulky to flex properly when opening and closing, yours look like that won't be an issue whatsoever

Wedge took two attempts, but worth the second attempt. Thanks for the compliment.

I had to come back and look at those scales again, really like that design
it reminds me of the barbers use scales but with a modern flare with those points.
